What is NIMCET?
NIMCET stands for NIT MCA Common Entrance Test. It is conducted for admission to MCA programmes at participating NITs and IIITs.
The examination is designed to assess a candidate’s mathematical ability, logical thinking, computer awareness and English language skills.
Admission is based on the rank obtained in NIMCET, followed by the centralised online counselling process. Candidates submit their institute preferences, and seats are allotted according to rank, choices, seat availability and applicable reservation rules.
NIMCET is a separate entrance examination from CUET PG. Students interested in NIT MCA admission should follow the NIMCET notification and counselling portal rather than assuming that a CUET PG score can be used for NIMCET-based seats.
